Peptide Therapy

Peptide Therapy
Peptide therapy is the use of short chains of amino acids as messenger molecules to affect biological processes in the body in very specific and personalized ways. Many of the peptides that are used are naturally present in the body, and are involved in a wide range of processes. Some of these include hormone signaling, metabolism, immune function, tissue healing/repair, and cellular communication. Many of these pathways become less efficient with aging, stress or illness, and targeted peptide therapy may help restore balance and optimize function. At D5 Health, peptide therapy is used as a part of a comprehensive and personalized approach to optimizing health and improving quality of life. Peptides are carefully selected based on an individual’s history and goals, and objective data such as lab results and body composition scans. We emphasize the use of evidence-based peptides with established safety profiles and biologically plausible mechanisms of action.

The Benefits of Peptide Therapy

You can find a peptide that may help almost any system in the body. Some common uses of peptides include:
Weight loss
Peptides can help regulate appetite, improve fat metabolism, and support sustainable weight reduction.
Improved metabolic health
Certain peptides assist with blood sugar regulation, insulin sensitivity, and overall metabolic balance.
Body composition changes
Peptides may promote lean muscle growth while enhancing fat breakdown to improve overall body composition.
Immune support
Some peptides help strengthen immune response and support the body’s ability to heal and defend itself.
Libido issues
Peptides can support hormonal balance, circulation, and sexual wellness in both men and women.
Skin and hair support
Peptides may stimulate collagen production and cellular repair, helping improve skin quality and hair health.
Cognitive and mood enhancement
Certain peptides are known to support mental clarity, focus, memory, and emotional well-being.
Improving recovery from injury, surgery, or exercise
Peptides can aid tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and speed up recovery from physical stress or trauma.

Common Peptides Used

At D5 Health, we only use the highest quality peptides that are sourced from FDA-registered, and US-based, 503A compounding pharmacies, which meet rigorous safety, sterility, and quality standards. We do not support the use of “research-only” peptide companies, which have minimal oversight and source their materials from outside the US.

GLP-1 (+/- GIP): e.g. Tirzepatide and Semaglutide:

Appetite suppression, weight loss, lowers blood sugar as well as inflammation.

Tesamorelin (GHRH peptide):

Supports growth hormone signaling, and can improve body composition by decreasing body fat (including visceral fat) and increasing muscle mass.

Sermorelin (GHRH peptide):

same as above, and may also lead to improvement in deep sleep.

TB-500/Thymosin Beta-4 fragment (Regenerative peptide):

used to accelerate musculoskeletal recovery and soft-tissue healing.

PDA (similar to BPC-157, also a regenerative peptide):

Supports tissue repair and recovery by improving blood flow.

BPC-157 (Regenerative peptide):

While not available as an injection, it may be used orally to support gut health.

KPV (anti-inflammatory peptide):

Taken orally, usually with BPC-157, to help heal the gut lining.

PT-141/Bremelanotide (Central nervous system signaling peptide):

Improves sexual desire and arousal.

What To Expect During Your Visit

Your visit at D5 Health will begin with a warm greeting by the staff, followed by a comprehensive, physician-led, consultation where we discuss your health history, symptoms, goals and lifestyle. We review sleep, nutrition, exercise, toxin exposure, stress management, and much more, with the goal of gaining a holistic understanding of you as a person. A body composition scan and grip strength test are performed for everyone. We will then jointly decide how to proceed in terms of testing. At a minimum we will proceed with ordering a comprehensive set of biomarkers, but we may also decide to add on function testing, such as gut health and toxin testing. You will then return for a detailed discussion of the results, and to review a comprehensive treatment plan.

Why Choose D5 Health for Peptide Therapy?

At D5 Health, we integrate peptide therapies into a comprehensive longevity strategy. By incorporating the patient’s health history, goals and objective data such as labs and body composition scans, a personalized and evidence-based protocol can be safely developed. We never choose peptides based on a generalized protocol. Additionally we only source peptides from FDA-registered and US-based compounding pharmacies. Ongoing follow-up and data-driven adjustments ensure your plan evolves as your health improves, supporting long-term healthspan, performance, and resilience.

Are peptides safe?

When appropriately prescribed and monitored, peptide therapies are generally well tolerated.
Some patients will notice benefits within weeks, while other changes, such as body composition improvements, may take several months.
Yes, certain peptides suppress appetite and lead to weight loss, especially when combined with nutrition, exercise and lifestyle optimization.
Most peptide injections are done with very small needles into the subcutaneous tissues, and are well tolerated with minimal discomfort.
Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) provides exogenous testosterone, while most peptides work by signaling the body to improve its own natural processes, such as hormone release, tissue repair, or metabolic regulation
Side effects are generally mild and may include temporary injection-site irritation, headache, or fluid retention, depending on the peptide. Serious side effects are uncommon when therapy is appropriately selected and monitored.
Some peptides are FDA-approved for specific indications, while others are prescribed as “off-label” therapies.
